The ONE is an add-on device for conventional 3axis CNC machine, that provides new capabilities to the standard hardware. We present a concept of methods that use real-time input to fabricate physical form drawing only by hands: Interactive Fabrication. Our work suggests a new approach to use CNC, not as a complex machine but a new kind of assistive hand tool.
Traditional CNC requires a routine of Sketch, CAD, CAM, and operation of the machine to get the needed product, we suggest shortening this process to sketch on the required surface using simple tools. Thus sketches translate to computer G-CODE, that operates the CNC. Integration of depth camera and voice recognition in real-time, provide intuitive and straightforward access to these digital fabrication devices.
